Culture Shock

I have been here in the US for two weeks now, but I am a little bit upset because of all this culture shock thing.

I am afraid to talk to people because they speak English so fast, and I had a hard time to catch up.

There is always so many readings and assignments from school, I am under a lot of pressure.

I miss my family, miss all those hot food and  I miss the good weather.

I wish I could get over with it soon.

Burns Night

January 25th, it is the Burns Supper tonight.

This is a Scottish celebration dedicated to the Scottish poet Robert Burns. The famous Auld Lang Syne was written by him.

I celebrated this fabulous night with a couple of friends in my accommodation. In order to be more “Scottish”, we all dressed up in tartan, had some great Scot Whisky and Haggis, and of course, shared some of the most beautiful poems in the world.

Here’s my favorite Burns’s poem,  A Red, Red Rose.

A Red, Red Rose

[Hear Red, Red Rose]
Type: Poem

O my Luve’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June:
O my Luve’s like the melodie,
That’s sweetly play’d in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ ’twere ten thousand mile!

Say Hi…

Hi there,

Welcome to this blog. THE Blog. Z.Blog.

Did you get the Pun trick here? lol

And also Z is the capital letter of my name.

Ok, enough about the name of this blog, what will you find here?

Well, I’m not sure. Maybe something about the English language and literature, or some travel journals and food recipes, possibly some funny videos and pictures etc. Basically anything I find interesting.

Let’s get started then!
